SENATE BILL 30
AN ACT amending the charter of the town of dallas to authorize the board of aldermen to delegate the authority to suspend or remove employees.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. Section 4.1 of Article IV of the Charter of the Town of Dallas, being Chapter 342 of the 1979 Session Laws, reads as rewritten:
"Section 4.1. Form of government; authority over
employees. The Town shall operate under the mayor-council form of
government, in accordance with Part 3 of Article 7 of Chapter 160A of the
General Statutes. The Board of Aldermen shall have the authority to appoint and
remove all employees. The Board may delegate to a department head the authority
to suspend an employee, but final action on any suspension shall be taken by
the Board.or remove employees in his or her department."
SECTION 2. This act is effective when it becomes law.
