AN ACT to EXTEND s.l. 2002-12 to september 30, 2002, AND TO PROVIDE THAT NO MEMBER of the general ASSEMBLY SHALL RECEIVE PER DIEM OR TRAVEL ALLOWANCE ON ACCOUNT OF THE 2001 REGULAR SESSION OR 2002 EXTRA SESSION OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY BETWEEN OCTOBER 1, 2002, AND DECEMBER 31, 2002.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. Section 9 of S.L. 2002-12, as amended by S.L. 2002-54, reads as rewritten:
"SECTION 9. Except as otherwise provided in this
act, this act becomes effective July 1, 2002, and expires August 31, 2002.September
30, 2002."
SECTION 2. Between October 1, 2002, and December 31, 2002, no member may receive per diem or travel allowance on account of the 2001 Regular Session or 2002 Extra Session of the General Assembly, but this sentence does not affect per diem under G.S. 120-37(b).
SECTION 3. This act becomes effective August 31, 2002.
