SENATE BILL 398

AN ACT TO DELAY THE SUNSET OF THE PROVISIONS OF THE CHECK CASHER ACT AUTHORIZING POSTDATED OR DELAYED DEPOSIT CHECKS.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  Section 3 of S.L. 1997-391 reads as rewritten:

"Section 3. This act becomes effective October 1, 1997, and the provisions of G.S. 53-281 shall expire on July 31, 2001.August 31, 2001."

SECTION 2.  This act is effective when it becomes law.

In the General Assembly read three times and ratified this the 31^st day of July, 2001.
