HOUSE BILL 337

 

AN ACT TO ALLOW THE TOWN OF CARRBORO TO CONVEY PROPERTY TO THE UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

Section 1.  Section 4-1 of the Charter of the Town of Carrboro, being Chapter 476, Session Laws of 1987, is amended by adding a new subsection to read:

"(c)      Notwithstanding the provisions of Article 12 of Chapter 160A of the General Statutes or any other provision of law, the Town of Carrboro may convey town property to the United States Postal Service in accordance with the provisions of G.S. 160A-274 as if the United States Postal Service was a 'governmental unit' as defined by G.S. 160A-274(a)."

Sec. 2.  This act is effective upon ratification.
