HOUSE BILL 355

 

AN ACT TO DIRECT THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION TO WORK WITH LOCAL GOVERNMENTS AND LOCAL SCHOOL ADMINISTRATIVE UNITS TO CREATE AND MAINTAIN ALTERNATIVE SCHOOLS AND ALTERNATIVE SCHOOL PROGRAMS FOR CHRONICALLY DISRUPTIVE STUDENTS.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

Section 1.  The State Board of Education shall work with local governments and local school administrative units to create and maintain alternative residential schools and alternative school programs for chronically disruptive students.  The State Board of Education shall report to the General Assembly on or before March 1, 1990, on its plan for implementing this section.

Sec. 2.  This act is effective upon ratification.
