HOUSE BILL 737

 

AN ACT TO PROHIBIT THE SALE OF KEROSENE FROM PUMPS LOCATED ON THE SAME PUMP ISLAND AS PUMPS DISPENSING GASOLINE.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

Section 1.  Chapter 119 of the General Statutes is amended by adding a new section to read:

"§ 119-16.3. Certain kerosene sales prohibited.-It shall be a misdemeanor for any distributor to sell kerosene dispensed from a pump located on the same island where there are pumps dispensing gasoline or gasohol. An island is a group of two or more dispensing pumps within 15 feet of each other. This act shall apply only to pumps installed after the effective date."

Sec. 2.  This act shall become effective October 1, 1985.
