AN ACT TO AMEND G.S. 153A-267 TO COMPLY WITH CHAPTER 125-9 AND CHAPTER 143B-67 OF THE GENERAL STATUTES PERTAINING TO THE PUBLIC LIBRARIAN CERTIFICATION COMMISSION.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

Section 1.  Chapter 153A-267 of the General Statutes of North Carolina as the same appears under Section (a) is amended as follows:

"(a)       To be eligible for appointment and service as chief administrative officer of a library system (whether designated chief librarian, director of library services or some other title), a person must have a professional librarian certificate issued by the Secretary of Cultural Resources, pursuant to Chapter 125-9 of the General Statutes, under regulations for certification of Public Librarian as established by the North Carolina Public Librarian Certification Commission pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 143B-67."

Sec. 2.  This act shall become effective upon ratification.
