SENATE BILL 14

AN ACT TO EXEMPT FROM SALES TAX DEPOSITS ON RETURNABLE BEVERAGE CONTAINERS.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

Section 1.  G.S. 105-164.3(16) is hereby amended by adding at the end thereof a new subparagraph d. to read as follows:

"d.        'Sales price' shall not include any amounts charged as deposits on beverage containers which are returnable to vendors for reuse and which amounts are refundable or creditable to vendees, whether or not said deposits are separately charged."

Sec. 2.  This act shall become effective July 1, 1975.
