AN ACT TO AMEND G.S. 163-136 TO REQUIRE DIFFERENT COLORS FOR EACH SEPARATE BALLOT IN PRIMARY AND GENERAL ELECTIONS.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

Section 1.  G.S. 163-136, as the same appears in the 1972 Replacement Volume 3D of the General Statutes, is amended by adding a new subsection (d) to read:

"(d)      Each kind of official ballot as defined in G.S. 163-140 used in a primary election shall have a distinct and separate color, and each such ballot used in a general election shall have a distinct and separate color. In both a primary and general election, the color of each kind of official ballot as defined in G.S. 163-140 shall be determined by the board of elections responsible for printing the ballots."

Sec. 2.  This act shall become effective July 1, 1974.
