HOUSE BILL 1208

 

 

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE ASHE COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION TO CONVEY CERTAIN PROPERTY TO THE TOWN OF JEFFERSON.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. The Ashe County Board of Education is hereby authorized to convey without consideration to the Town of Jefferson the property no longer needed for educational purposes described below; provided, however, such conveyance shall provide for reversion of the property to said Board of Education if and when said town should ever cease to use said property for a proper public use:

"BEGINNING on an iron stake set in the North margin of South Street, said iron being located North 84 degrees 30 minutes East along the said North margin of South Street, 91.00 feet from the intersection of the North margin of South Street with the East margin of Jail Street, and runs thence from the beginning, with the said North margin of South Street North 84 degrees 30 minutes East 95.00 feet to an iron; thence, leaving South Street and running the following new lines: South 6 degrees 30 minutes East 65.00 feet to an iron, South 84 degrees 30 minutes West 95.00 feet to an iron, and North 6 degrees 30 minutes West 65.00 feet to the BEGINNING; containing 6,175.00 square feet."

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall become effective upon its ratification.
