AN ACT AMENDING CHAPTER 1068, SESSION LAWS OF 1963 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE SOLICITOR OF THE RECORDER'S COURT OF NEW HANOVER COUNTY MAY PRACTICE LAW.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. Section 4.1 of Chapter 1068, Session Laws of 1963 is rewritten in its entirety to read as follows:

"Sec. 4.1. The Judge of New Hanover County Recorder's Court shall not practice law during his term of office, nor shall he, during such term be the partner or associate of any person engaged in the practice of law."

Sec. 2. Chapter 704, Session Laws of 1965, to the extent contrary to the provisions hereof, is hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
