AN ACT TO REGULATE NOISE IN CARTERET COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Section 1. It shall be unlawful to operate any motorcycle on any public street, highway or road, in Carteret County between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. except on any road or street which is a part of the State or Federal Highway System.

Sec. 2. It shall be unlawful to operate any motor vehicle race track or drag strip in Carteret County between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. or to drive or operate any motor vehicle on such track or strip during said hours.

Sec. 3. Any violation of this Act shall be punishable by a fine of not more than fifty dollars ($50.00) and imprisonment for not more than thirty days.

Sec. 4. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 5. If any provision of this Act or the application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of this Act which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this Act are declared to be severable.

Sec. 6. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
