AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE AND EMPOWER THE CITY OF BURLINGTION TO SELL BY PRIVATE SALE CERTAIN LANDS IN SAID CITY GENERALLY KNOWN AND DESIGNATED AS FAIRCHILD AIRPORT.

 

WHEREAS, the City of Burlington is the owner in fee simple of that certain tract or parcel of land hereinafter described, subject only to certain restrictions and conditions contained in the deed by which said City of Burlington acquires title to said lands; and

WHEREAS, said tract or parcel of land is not now deemed useful for any public or necessary municipal purpose; and

WHEREAS, the governing body of City of Burlington desires to sell a part or all of the land hereinafter described by private sale for valuable considerations; Now, therefore,

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. The City of Burlington is hereby authorized and empowered to give, grant, sell and convey, at private sale, at such price or prices, in the sole discretion of its governing body, and upon such terms and conditions as its governing body may determine, by deed or deeds with general warranty and free and clear of all encumbrances, except as contained in such deed or deeds, any part or parts or all of the following described lands:

Being that certain tract or parcel of land described substantially and briefly as "Subdivision of the property of Fairchild Airport", as shown by survey and plat prepared by John D. Somers, Registered Land Surveyor, dated January 10, 1967.

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.

In the General Assembly read three times and ratified, this the 26th day of May, 1967.
