AN ACT TO ENABLE THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF HICKORY TO GIVE QUITCLAIM DEEDS TO THE HICKORY CITY BOARD OF EDUCATION.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. That the governing body of the City of Hickory shall have and is hereby granted the power to transfer and convey to the Hickory City Board of Education, by quitclaim deed, any and all interests that the City of Hickory may have in any real property conveyed to the City of Hickory for school purposes prior to February 26, 1925.

Sec. 2. That the provisions of Section 160-59 of the General Statutes of North Carolina, Volume 3 (D), 1964 Replacement, shall not apply to the City of Hickory in the transfer of any real property conveyed to the City of Hickory for school purposes prior to February 26, 1925.

Sec. 3. That all conveyances, or preparations made in contemplation of sale, by the Hickory City Board of Education of any real property originally deeded to the City of Hickory for school purposes prior to February 26, 1925, are hereby validated and ratified in every respect.

Sec. 4. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 5. This Act shall become effective upon its ratification.
