AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 723, SESSION LAWS OF 1961, SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR INCREASING THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE RECREATION COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF WILSON FROM SIX TO SEVEN MEMBERS.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. Chapter 723 of the Session Laws of 1961 is amended by striking out the word "six" in line 5 of Section 1 of said Act and inserting in lieu thereof the word "seven".

Sec. 2. Said Act is further amended by adding, at the end of the first Section, the following:

"The Board of Commissioners of the City of Wilson, at its regular meeting in April 1967, or at any adjourned meeting thereof, shall appoint the seventh member of the Recreation Commission of the City of Wilson to serve until January 1, 1968, at which time the members whose term expire on January 1, 1968, shall be succeeded by members appointed by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Wilson at their regular meeting in December 1967, to serve for a term of three years. Every third year thereafter, three members, instead of two, shall be appointed as members of the Recreation Commission for a term of three years.

Sec. 3. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
