AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MOORE COUNTY TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE MANAGEMENT AND OPERATION OF A DOG POUND-ANIMAL SHELTER.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. The Board of County Commissioners of Moore County is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with the Humane Society of Moore County, Inc. for the maintenance and operation of a county dog pound-animal shelter. Said Board of County Commissioners is further authorized to use the county dog tax fund for the purpose of paying the Humane Society of Moore County, Inc. for the performance of services under such contract and in the event the dog tax fund is insufficient to pay the Humane Society of Moore County, Inc. for the performance of services under said contract, the Board of County Commissioners is authorized to appropriate funds from its general fund or from any nontax or surplus funds for such purpose.

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
