AN ACT AMENDING CHAPTER 58, PUBLIC-LOCAL LAWS OF 1939 RELATING TO THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF KINGS MOUNTAIN.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. Section 6 of Chapter 58, Public-Local Laws of 1939 is amended by striking from line 14 thereof the words "seven A.M. and seven P.M." and substituting in lieu thereof the words "nine A.M. to five P.M." and by striking from lines 36 and 37 thereof the words "seven o'clock, A.M., and close them at six o'clock, P.M.," and substituting in lieu thereof the words "six-thirty o'clock, A.M. and close them at six-thirty o'clock P.M.,".

Sec. 2. Section 6 is further amended by inserting after the word "order;" and before the word "that in line 28 thereof the following:

"on challenge day the registration books shall be kept open at the polling place in each ward, between the hours of nine A.M. and three P.M., for the inspection of the electors of the ward;".

Sec. 3. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
