AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF WARREN COUNTY TO FIX THE COMPENSATION OF ALL ELECTED AND APPOINTIVE OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF SAID COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Section 1. Section 5-A of Chapter 1227 of Session Laws of 1953 is hereby amended by striking out the word "Warren".

Sec. 2. The Board of Commissioners of Warren County is hereby authorized and empowered, in its discretion, to fix the salaries, travel allowances, and other compensation paid to all appointive and elected county officers and employees of Warren County, including but not limited to the members of the Board of County Commissioners of said County; provided, that all salaries of said appointive and elected county officers and employees now fixed by law shall remain in full force and effect until said board of commissioners exercises the authority conferred upon it by this Act.

Sec. 3. This Act shall not apply to county employees who come within the jurisdiction of the North Carolina Merit System Council, nor shall anything contained herein be held to repeal or amend the provisions of Chapter 126 of the General Statutes of North Carolina.

Sec. 4. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 5. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
