AN ACT TO AMEND ARTICLE 7 OF CHAPTER 120 OF THE GENERAL STATUTES TO PROVIDE SUBSISTENCE ALLOWANCE FOR CERTAIN EMPLOYEES OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  Article 7 of Chapter 120, as the same appears in the 1964 Replacement Volume 3B of the General Statutes is hereby amended by adding at the end thereof a new Section to be designated as G.S. 120-36.1 and to read as follows:

"§ 120-36.1.  Subsistence Allowance for Principal Clerks, Reading Clerks and Sergeants-at-Arms. In addition to all other compensation allowed by law, the enrolling clerk, the principal clerks, the reading clerks and the sergeants-at-arms of each House of the General Assembly shall be reimbursed for subsistence, upon vouchers signed by them, the actual amount expended for room and meals not to exceed twenty dollars ($20.00) per day."

Sec. 2.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3.  This Act shall be retroactive to January 1, 1965.

In the General Assembly read three times and ratified, this the 16th day of June, 1965.
