AN ACT TO AMEND G.S. 105-141 TO EXCLUDE FROM THE DEFINITION OF GROSS INCOME COMPENSATION RECEIVED BY MEMBERS OF THE ARMED FORCES AS HOSTILE FIRE DUTY PAY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  Subsection (a) of G.S. 105-141 is hereby amended by substituting a comma for the period at the end of the first paragraph thereof and adding the following:

"but shall not include compensation received by members of the Armed Forces as hostile fire duty pay which is authorized by Public Law 88-132 enacted by the Congress of the United States on October 2, 1963."

Sec. 2.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3.  This Act shall become effective upon its ratification but shall apply to income received since January 1, 1965.
