AN ACT TO AMEND G.S. 44-66 OF THE GENERAL STATUTES, RELATING TO THE RECORDING OF FEDERAL TAX LIENS IN THE OFFICE OF THE REGISTER OF DEEDS.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  G.S. 44-66 is amended by deleting the last sentence thereof and substituting therefor the following:

"The board of commissioners of each county is authorized to fix a fee for recording Federal tax liens in the office of the register of deeds not to exceed two dollars ($2.00) per lien and a fee for filing certificates of discharge not to exceed two dollars ($2.00) per certificate. The fees provided herein are to be charged to the United States."

Sec. 2.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3.  This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
