AN ACT TO AMEND G.S. 20-125.1 REGARDING DIRECTIONAL SIGNALS FOR CERTAIN TRAILERS.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  G.S. 20-125.1 is hereby amended by adding a new subsection immediately following the first paragraph of subsection (b) to be designated as subsection (c) and to read as follows:

"(c)       Trailers satisfying the following conditions are not required to be equipped with a directional signal device: (1) The trailer and load does not obscure the directional signals of the towing vehicle from the view of a driver approaching from the rear and within a distance of two hundred (200) feet; (2) The gross weight of the trailer and load does not exceed three thousand (3,000) pounds.

"Nothing in this Section shall apply to motorcycles."

Sec. 2.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3.  This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
