AN ACT TO AMEND G.S. 20-88 TO EXEMPT SMALL TRAILERS OR SEMITRAILERS FROM THE COMBINATION LICENSING REQUIREMENTS, WHEN THE SAME ARE TO BE USED WITH SMALL TRUCKS.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  G.S. 20-88 is hereby amended by changing the period (.) appearing at the end of subsection (a) thereof to a comma (,) and by adding immediately after said comma the following:

"except that the gross weight of a trailer or semitrailer is not required to be included when the operation is to be in conjunction with a self-propelled property-carrying vehicle which is licensed for six thousand (6,000) pounds or less gross weight and the gross weight of such combination does not exceed nine thousand (9,000) pounds."

Sec. 2.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3.  This Act shall be effective from and after ratification.
