AN ACT RELATING TO MALICIOUS THROWING OF CORROSIVE ACIDS OR ALKALIES.
The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:
Section 1. Chapter 14 of the General Statutes is hereby amended by inserting a new Section immediately following G.S. 14-30, to be designated as G.S. 14-30.1, and to read as follows:
"Sec. 14-30.1. Malicious Throwing of Corrosive Acid or Alkali. If any person shall, of malice aforethought, knowingly and wilfully throw or cause to be thrown upon another person any corrosive acid or alkali with intent to murder, maim or disfigure and inflicts serious injury not resulting in death, he shall be guilty of a felony and shall be punished by imprisonment in the State Prison for a term of not less than four (4) months nor more than ten (10) years."
Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.
Sec. 3. This Act shall become effective upon its ratification.
