AN ACT TO ESTABLISH A SEPARATE OFFICE OF TAX COLLECTOR IN NORTHAMPTON COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. The office of tax collector in Northampton County shall be established as a separate office, independent of and separate from any other office in the said county, and the county commissioners of the said county shall appoint a county tax collector whose duty and responsibility shall be the same as that conferred upon tax collectors by Article 27 of Chapter 105 of the General Statutes of North Carolina.

Sec. 2. The County Commissioners of Northampton County shall provide office space, equipment, and sufficient personnel to the tax collector to properly conduct the duties of his office and shall provide for payment of salaries and other expenses of the said office.

Sec. 3. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after July 1, 1963.
