HOUSE BILL 83

 

 

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF JOHNSTON COUNTY TO SELL A TRACT OF LAND IN CLEVELAND TOWNSHIP AT PUBLIC AUCTION, AND TO DEVOTE THE PROCEEDS TO THE USE OF THE CLEVELAND VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT FOR THE REDUCTION OF OUTSTANDING INDEBTEDNESS.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. The Board of County Commissioners of Johnston County is hereby authorized and empowered to sell, at public auction, for cash, that certain tract of land containing approximately one acre, being the same tract conveyed to Cleveland Township, Johnston County, by Lizzie Wood by deed dated November 20, 1902, and recorded in Book A-9, page 84, Johnston County Registry of Deeds.

Sec. 2. The proceeds received from the aforesaid tract of land shall be used by the said Board of County Commissioners for the reduction of the outstanding indebtedness against the fire truck owned and operated by the Cleveland Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., and the said board is authorized and empowered to remit the funds received from the above sale to the said Cleveland Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., for the aforesaid purpose.

Sec. 3. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
