AN ACT TO AMEND G.S. 87‑43.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  G.S. 87‑43 is hereby amended by striking out the period immediately following the word "examination" in line 9 of the last paragraph, inserting a semicolon in lieu thereof, and adding the following words: "Provided, further, any person who upon the date of ratification of this Act has attained the age of at least 40 and who has continuously engaged in the performance of electrical work under the direction and supervision of a licensee under this Act who is the parent of such person and who has been serving continuously since January 1, 1939, as a mechanic employed by a licensee of said board, as described in subdivision (3) of the first paragraph of this Section upon proper certification by the employer licensee or other establishment of such fact, shall be granted a license by said board under this Article without examination."

Sec. 2.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3.  This Act shall become effective upon its ratification.
