AN ACT TO AMEND G. S. 115-18 RELATING TO THE COUNTY BOARDS OF EDUCATION SO AS TO FIX THE NUMBER OF THE MEMBERS OF THE PERSON COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. G. S. 115-18 is hereby amended by adding the following sentence at the end thereof: "Provided that in Person County the Board of Education shall consist of seven members."

Sec. 2. That it is the intent and purpose of this Act to increase the membership of the Person County Board of Education from five to seven members. That the two new members of the Person County Board of Education provided by this Act shall initially be appointed by the General Assembly of 1961 in its Act appointing members to the County Boards of Education.

Sec. 3. This Act shall apply only to Person County.

Sec. 4. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 5. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
